Sharing a post from Soap Opera Digest, which announced Lockhart’s death, Wagner wrote, “June was so elegant and sweet as Felicia’s grandmother, but behind the scenes she was sassy and loads of fun.”
She added to this, “At the end of each work day, she would say, ‘This nightmare is finally over!’ ? Rest in peace, June. ❤️.” Many others had similar opinions about Lockhart’s death.
There were many comments, too, that paid tribute to the legendary actress. Many claimed that she was a brilliant grandmother to Wagner’s character.
June Lockhart was notable since Hollywood’s Golden Age, which she helped bridge with the TV era. In a career that spanned multiple decades, Lockhart was a part of films like A Christmas Carol and Meet Me in St. Louis. She was also a part of shows like Lassie and Lost in Space, which earned her great critical acclaim.
Lockhart had a career that spanned almost 90 years. She was one of the last surviving actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
Her most recent film appearance was in Bongee Bear and the Kingdom of Rhythm in a voice role in 2019. Her other notable appearances in recent decades include Grey’s Anatomy, Complete Savages, Super Capers, and The Remake, among others.
