EXCLUSIVE: Badland director Justin Lee and his Willapa Bay Entertainment label have signed a multi-pic pact with Trinity Content Partners (TCP), and set John Rhys-Davies to star in the first, Solomon Quinn.
The worldwide distribution deal covers “several major productions” that will lens in 2026 and 2027. Lee is known for fantasy and western genre pics such as 2019 film Badland, which played on Netflix, and a remake of The Most Dangerous Game starring Chris Tamburello and Tom Berenger.
Solomon Quinn is the first pic, with Radiers of the Lost Ark and Lord of the Rings actor Jonathan Rhys-Davies signed up to star. Per the synopsis, it will be “a treasure-hunting tale focused on the titular character, Solomon Quinn, and his rag tag group of thrill-seekers that will be shot around the globe spanning from the jungles of Thailand to the highest peaks in Switzerland.”
“Solomon is a character I have been working on for a long time and have written everything from scripts, to novels to comics”, said Lee. “Having John be on the cast is a dream come true as I grew up with Indiana Jones. His acting is top notch and his presence will be greatly felt and respected in this film series.”
Under terms of the TCP pact, Willapa Bay will serve as the development hub and physical production base, along with supplying post facilities for the projects.
“Justin has a proven track record for producing quality films with strong casts and commercial appeal,” Andy Taylor, Commercial Director of TCP. “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with him on these four exciting projects – and look forward to many more in the future.”
“I first worked with Andy on the remake of The Most Dangerous Game and have since wanted to continue a partnership,” added Lee. “Finding that which fostered creative freedom yet allowed for the boundaries to be pushed with independent filmmaking is hard currently. Trinity and Andy have done just that by allowing a deal that truly cradles the indie distribution model while allowing great stories to be told.”
