The Funniest Tweets About the Cracker Barrel Logo Change

The American right-wing has won. They have control of the country, and they have won the culture wars too. Gutfeld! on Fox News is the most watched late-night show in the U.S. President Donald Trump has used federal law enforcement to invade Washington, D.C. and is threatening to pull a similar strategy on the rest of the major cities in America But of course, conservatives don’t feel happy unless they’re playing the victim, and with no real political or cultural battles to win (American Eagle even kept the Sydney Sweeney jeans/genetics ad up), they had to find something else to oppress them.

This brings us to the logo change of the chain restaurant Cracker Barrel. The dubiously named country store-styled eatery is best known for its chicken-fried steak, value breakfast menu and people who have never eaten there wondering, “Is this place racist? This place feels like it could be racist.” (The answer to that question is yes, at least it used to be — in the early aughts the restaurant was sued in a class-action lawsuit for its “racially discriminatory practices.”)

The logo was changed this week from the classic set-up of an old man sitting next to a barrel next to the words “cracker barrel” in an old-timey font to a sleeker font sans man and sans barrel. The old logo had been in place since 1977; the new CEO, a woman named Julie Felss Masino, stated last year that the company would be moving to regain relevancy. The new logo is “rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and wordmark that started it all,: according to a Cracker Barrel press release

Apparently, this logo change is “the woke agenda” taking over and it occupied the attention of right-wingers like Donald Trump Jr. and Charlie Kirk. By far the funniest of these meltdowns came from Byron Donalds, a Republican hopeful for Florida governor. “In college, I worked at Cracker Barrel in Tallahassee,” Donalds wrote. “I even gave my life to Christ in their parking lot. Their logo was iconic and their unique restaurants were a fixture of American culture. No one asked for this woke rebrand. It’s time to Make Cracker Barrel Great Again.”

Donalds was endlessly mocked for this story.

But that was far from the only funny joke in relation to the right-wing temper tantrum about the logo. A few more examples:

Never one to miss out on a chance to be kind of disappointing, the Democrats jumped into the fun on X, too.

For me, everyone is missing the crux of the issue. Who cares about the logo? Their biscuits are dry as hell.
